About your notary
For nearly 15 years, I've been dedicated to providing the Outaouais region with personalized, specialized service in human rights. My authenticity, empathy and thoroughness have earned me a distinguished and loyal clientele since the beginning.
I am originally from the Outaouais region. I completed my Licentiate in Civil Law (LL.L) at the University of Ottawa, then passed the Quebec Bar exams. My curiosity and flair prompted me to pursue my studies, which is how I obtained my master's degree in civil law, with a concentration in notarial law. My master's thesis focused on alternative dispute resolution.
I did my compulsory 8-month internship with Me Rodrigue Guindon, a notary with extensive experience in the Outaouais region. He offered me my first job as a notary, as soon as I was sworn in, in May 2009.
I became a partner in the firm named after my mentor, "Guindon et associés, notaires" in May 2011. The firm will change its name twice over the years, first to "Aubin Laflamme Paquin, notaires" and then to "Lexium Notaires".
I chaired these organizations until the 1stst September 2022, when I set up my own firm, specializing in personal law, operating under the name "Me Christiane Aubin, notaire". My areas of expertise are powers of attorney, wills (regular, fiduciary, non-resident), mandates of protection, estate settlements, non-contentious proceedings (such as will probate, homologation of mandates of protection, opening and revision of guardianships).
In the winter of 2023, I become the assignee of the office of Me Odile St-Hilaire, notary and tax specialist, enabling me to continue my specialization in the field of fiduciary wills.
I've been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association des notaires de l'Outaouais for several years, and have held the position of President since January 2021.

My network of trusted contacts will also allow me to refer you to people in other fields, if necessary (accounting, taxation, litigation and others).
Notarized power of attorney and protection mandate in case of incapacity
Many life events may require the need to delegate certain personal responsibilities to another person (sickness, hospitalization, travel). I can provide you solutions tailored to your needs.
Non-contentious procedures
In this process, the Notary will act on your behalf in court for various proceedings such as the validation of a Will, the guardianship of a minor, the tutorship of an adult of full age, or the homologation of a protection mandate for an incapacitated adult. This service requires an accreditation from the Chambre des Notaires du Québec, of which I am a proud bearer, fully qualified to offer you this highly specialized service.
